How to Occupy Yourself At Home

During this time, you might find that your routine is becoming a little repetitive. You’re not alone! It is important that we all do our part by staying home in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.

But, it is also important to remember that staying at home and being under quarantine does not call for a productivity contest. Do what entertains YOU. If you feel like taking this time to sit and be lazy, do it! If you are used to being productive and want to stay in routine by having a schedule, keep it up! The point is, we don’t know the next time we’ll have a great deal of time for ourselves so it’s best to enjoy it.

The following are a few ideas of what you could try doing quarantine:

Cooking: In order to avoid contact with the outdoors, you’ll most likely find yourself in the kitchen a lot more. This is a good thing! Whether work took up the majority of your day time, or you preferred to eat out. Now is the perfect time to test out new recipes and experiment with food.

Workouts/Yoga: It’s safe to say that snacking has become a regular hobby for all of us. We can’t let them defeat us! Stay healthy and active during quarantine. Laying in bed all day can cause your muscles to seize up! Here is a no equipment ab routine to get you started!

Meditation: Mental health is so important! Being isolated can leave you to be consumed by your negative thoughts. This is not something Live Chic wants you to do. Meditation is a form of relaxation that has many benefits such as stress relief. It can help you reach clarity and help you develop concentration.

Reading: The internet is taking over! It’s probably a good time to step back and do some reading that doesn’t involve your Instagram feed! There are multiple sources available online if you don’t have access to books at this time. Investing in a kindle is also another option! Audible is an online platform with books that you can listen to if you’re not a huge fan of reading and would prefer someone read to you. 2020 hasn’t started off the best, but here are some of the must reads of 2020 so far; https://www.elle.com/culture/books/g29954140/best-books-2020/
